Annual Holiday Classical Music Concert at Southwestern Academy

Steven Yen (l) and Nicole Shao (r)

The sounds of beautiful and flowing classical music by several Southwestern Academy students under the direction of music teacher Mr. Joshua Gerowitz, enchanted the school community on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 16, at Veronda Place. It was standing room only as all seats were occupied by the attendees.

The concert is an annual holiday event eagerly anticipated by the students, parents, faculty, and school trustees. The music pieces included a guitar solo piece by Justin Liu, Debussy’s “Clair de Lune” by Ryan Wu on the baby grand, Mozart’s “Violin Sonata in G Minor, Allegro” duet by Nicole Shao accompanied on the piano by Silvia Dong, Paganini’s “Caprice” by Nicole Shao on violin, Bach’s “Suite No. 1” on the cello by Steven Yen, and Bach’s “Concerto for Violin in A Minor” by Nicole Shao. Light refreshments were served afterward and enjoyed by all.
