Assumption School’s Food Drive for the Sacred Heart Pantry

This week, Monday through Friday, Assumption School will hold their annual food drive to help families in need at the Sacred Heart Pantry in Altadena.

The staff at the pantry informed Assumption School that these items are most needed and practical. The school is asking students to bring the following items to their classroom any day of the week:

Kindergarten: boxed cereal
Grade 1: canned peaches
Grade 2: rice (on Monday, at their special Mass, second graders will offer their gift at the altar)
Grade 3: canned tuna
Grade 4: canned tomatoes
Grade 5: bags of flour
Grade 6: bags of sugar
Grade 7: peanut butter
Grade 8: plastic bottles of apple juice

On Friday, December 13, volunteers from Sacred Heart will join Assumption students for a blessing of all donated food. The seventh and eighth graders will then help load the food onto the trucks for distribution. Assumption School expresed their gratitude in advance to the kindness and generosity of its students.
