Barnhart School Announces 2014 Summer Program

With the spring nearly upon us, schools gear up for their final terms and parents everywhere asks themselves one simple question: what do we do with our kids over the summer? With no shortage of options to investigate and research, the right answer can prove elusive, but Barnhart School offers the perfect solution.

The Barnhart School Summer Program was built from the ground up to provide your children an engaging and stimulating experience that features a diverse range of enriching options which span both academic courses as well as full day camp sessions. Designed and backed by a team of dedicated specialists and educators, this summer program keeps your kids stimulated and off the couch while remaining easy on your wallet at competitive prices.

Lego Mindstorms, archery, water relays, screen writing, creative rock band, basketball camp, and rocketry is just scratching the surface of the opportunities offered at the 2014 Barnhart Summer Program. By utilizing a large spectrum of activities and classes that cater to children with a broad scope of interests and sensibilities, the Barnhart Summer Program operates under a core philosophy: give kids what they love to keep them engaged while fostering growth in the subjects they care about.

The Barnhart Summer Program is divided into two, three-week sessions and two summer camp weeks in order to maximize sign up opportunities and remain flexible with your schedule.

Full Day Summer Camp

The fun kicks off with Challenger Camp from June 16th to June 20th! Challenger Camp is a five day, full day, summer program from 7:30AM to 5 PM. Participants will work together on teams to complete challenges to earn points in exchange for prizes. Each day will be jam packed with fun and rewarding activities including a field trip to a laser tag arena! Campers will be encouraged to establish team unity as they develop leadership skills and succeed in the spirit of cooperation.

August 4th to August 8th marks the second round of full day summer camp with August Mystery Camp! Mystery camp will transform campers into detectives as they gather clues and solve riddles for their team headquarters. Each day will center on new mysteries and new activities to challenge young sleuths to work cooperatively and enjoy games that utilize critical thinking. Mystery Camp takes games like hide and seek to an exciting new level!

Participants may enroll in one day of summer camp for $60, or all five days $275. Register by May 2nd to take advantage of Early Bird Pricing, and sign up for both Challenger and Mystery Camp for $450 to save $100!

Academic and Enrichment Courses

From June 23rd to August 1st, in between Challenger and Mystery Camp, Barnhart offers its comprehensive Summer School Courses. Courses are offered within two separate, three week sessions with session one occurring from June 23rd to July 11th and session two from July 14th to August 1st.

A large number of courses will be offered throughout the day that are divided into five periods in exciting subjects ranging from theater to edible art, chemistry, video game creation, and math just to name a few. Participants can sign up for as little as a one period class during a session, or up to selecting five classes for all five daily periods.

Pricing begins at $135 per class per three week session. Discounts will be given for signing up for multiple classes or multiple sessions! Register by May 2nd to earn Early Bird Pricing!

The wide range of options offered by the Barnhart Summer Courses cater to a variety of different grades and skill levels from K through 8th grade. Whether you desire your child to stay sharp with academic stimulation over the summer months, to continue pursuing their extracurricular interests, or both, Barnhart Summer Courses are guaranteed to have something for everyone while providing a challenging, enjoyable, and fully engaging experience.

Summer School Preview Night is an open invitation to engage with summer course instructors and have the opportunity to preview and sample their courses. All are welcome and encouraged to attend!
