Barnhart School’s Winter Open House is Saturday December 5



Barnhart School transforms this Saturday into a winter wonderland for it Winter Open House 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

All Aboard! The Barnhart Express train tours the campus where current students showcase their year-to-date work. Open to prospective parents and students as well, children can decorate holiday ornaments, and demo enrichment classes while parents talk to teachers and learn more about Barnhart’s commitment to academic excellence. A Winter Chorus and Band Concert immediately followings at 1:00 p.m.

Barnhart is known for its diverse and welcoming community, its robust and rigorous academics, unique middle school electives and league-champion after-school sports programs. At Barnhart, the beauty is in the balance.

Located in Arcadia, California, Barnhart offers a private K-8 education. Distinguishing programs of Barnhart include immersion-approach Spanish at all grade levels, daily physical education, the Virtues Project™ and Responsive Classroom character development programs, Lucy Calkins’ Writing Workshop, a choral group, and an on-site harvest garden. The school also incorporates a science and living history experiential learning program beginning in kindergarten and culminating in week-long programs in middle school. The school has an early literacy emphasis, a 1:1 ratio of technology and an average 12:1 student-teacher ratio.

Middle school begins at sixth grade at Barnhart and includes the 7th grade biotech project sponsored by Amgen, woodshop, life skills and an extensive elective program including art studio, advanced band, community leadership, musical theatre, science club, yearbook and the newly added screenwriting/production class, making its debut for the 2015/2016 school year.
