Chandler School: Silly Putty and Mystery Goo



Sixth-graders in Ms. Newman’s science lab investigate whether Silly Putty and ‘mystery goo’ (cornstarch and water) are liquids or solids by applying different levels and types of pressure. Students better understand that rocks in the Earth’s asthenosphere are solid but able to flow in certain conditions.
