Chandler School’s Fifth-Grade Catalina and Sixth-Grade Boojum Adventures in Pictures

Catalina Island can be seen from the Los Angeles’ coastal area and Chandler School took advantage of this proximity to visit the fantastic getaway with the 5th and 6th Graders. The Fifth and Sixth Graders set out to get into the interior of the island and enjoyed its gorgeous views. Catalina has had a long history of mostly private ownership, with the last notable owner being William Wrigley Jr. of the chewing gum fame. Because of him and his philanthropic endeavors, 88% of the island is now part of a conservancy that forbids any development and protects natural flora and fauna.

Students writing journal entries about their natural surroundings in Catalina. These journals will follow them through all their Boojum adventures and be keepsakes for when they graduate from Chandler.
