Cultivating Community through Gardening at The Gooden School

Mrs. Schmoke’s first grade class had a year-long gardening project that grew out of the Gooden School’s partnership with Church of the Ascension. Gardening at Gooden has a long tradition and teaches students important science and math skills as well as empathy and appreciation for the natural world. Gooden’s first graders worked hard and at the end of the year were able to try the literal fruits of their labor. The Gooden School thanks all of the volunteers who helped make this happen!
