Flintridge Preparatory School senior basketball standout Robert Cartwright has signed to play for Division 1 Stanford University.

In his junior season, Cartwright averaged 18.8 points, 4.3 assists and 3 steals, earning First Team All CIF honors and Prep League MVP. At point guard, Cartwright helped lead the Rebels to a League championship, with an undefeated record in League play, as well as to the Division VAA semifinals and the State Tournament. As a freshman, Cartwright started at point guard and played a key role in the team’s CIF Championship.

Cartwright said he enjoyed meeting the coaches and players at Stanford and is excited about playing for the Cardinal.

“I’m looking forward to being there and having four great years athletically,” Cartwright said.

Stanford plays in the NCAA’s Pac-12 Conference.

Cartwright follows in a rich tradition of Flintridge Prep athletes such as 2010 standout Kenyatta Smith (Harvard), of receiving offers to play for some of the elite college universities in the country.
