Red ruby heels, yellow brick road, and Emerald City, are you ready for “The Wizard of Oz”?
Auditions for Maranatha High School’s spring musical, “The Wizard of Oz” will be taking place after school starting on Monday, November 26, so take advantage of the Thanksgiving break to find a song and a monologue and get that voice tuned up and ready to go. The auditions will begin right after school at 3:15 p.m. in the Music Room (PA – 101) and will last until 5:45 p.m. Regular auditions will take place on Monday through Wednesday, November 26-28, and call-backs will be on Thursday, November 29.
Those who are auditioning will need to prepare a two minute comedic monologue (memorized) to perform at the audition. Also, choose a musical theater-type song and be prepared to sing at least 32 bars of that song, and bring the sheet music along as well.
A dance audition will also be given, and a sign-up sheet will go up on Ms. Daniels’ Dance Room door Tuesday, November 13, and dance auditions will be held in groups of eight. Upon signing up a link to a dance video will be sent to everyone so that you can prepare for the dance audition.
“The Wizard of Oz” is going to be an amazing show filled with all the wonders of the movie and stage version, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to “follow the yellow brick road” right to auditions.
