Giving Thanks… A Video Message from Grateful San Marino Students

During this holiday season when many gather with friends and family in tradition-filled celebrations, the San Marino Schools Foundation expresses its gratitude to the parents, community members and businesses who choose to financially support educational opportunity for the students of San Marino Unified through a donation to the Foundation. Over 3,100 San Marino students currently benefit from the reduced class sizes, enhanced curriculum, and increased counseling resources – among other notable initiatives in the District’s 2014-2015 budget – made possible by these generous donations (the Foundation passes all funds raised through its Annual Campaign, net of limited operational expenses, on an unrestricted basis to the District and contributes nearly 10% of the District budget).

State funding covers only about 70% of the cost to educate a child in San Marino Unified. Donations to supplement state funding are necessary and a way that parents can positively impact the education their children receive. Thankfully, the majority of parents with students in the District have already donated or pledged to the current Annual Campaign. We need 100% parent participation in the Annual Campaign. Make one’s tax deductible donation today online at smsf.org or by calling the Foundation office at (626) 299-7014 or click here.

The Schools Foundation reminds contributors that many companies have donation matching programs. If your employer participates, please make sure to request a matching gift and the Foundation can assist with any required paperwork.

On behalf of the students — The San Marino Schools Foundation says “Thank you.”

The San Marino Schools Foundation wish to thank Carver and Valentine Schools, for helping to produce the video (shown above).
