The Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) celebrates its 140th birthday during the annual State of the Schools Address Thursday, September 4th at 9 a.m. at Wilson Middle School. As part of the address, the PUSD Board of Education will reflect on the district’s history and look to its future as a leader in K-12 education in the 21st century.

The day begins with the State of the Schools Address in the gymnasium at Wilson Middle School, which underwent a $3.3 million renovation funded by voter-approved Measure TT.

Following the address, the program moves outside to the school’s new quad, where Wilson Middle School students will lead the crowd in singing “Happy Birthday” and cutting a 3’ x 4’ birthday cake.

PUSD is among several local institutions celebrating significant anniversaries in 2014 and is featured in the Crown City Jubilee at the Pasadena Museum of History. As part of the birthday celebration, PUSD students and employees and a guest can enjoy free admission to the museum from September 3-7 with a school or district ID.

The PUSD State of the Schools Address and 140th Celebration will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. (State of the Schools Address) and 10:00 a.m. (140th Birthday Celebration), at Woodrow Wilson Middle School located at 300 S. Madre St., Pasadena (Corner of Del Mar Blvd. and Madre Street).
