Harvest Festival Promises Fun-Filled Weekend!

Celebrate Fall in Sierra Madre with two exciting days of St. Rita’s annual Harvest Festival, Oct. 18 and 19. The weekend kicks off in the spirit of Oktoberfest with Beer, Brats & Bingo on Friday night, followed by the school’s annual Harvest Festival on Saturday — a community and family-favorite event for the past 50 years!

Meet your friends and bring the whole family to Beer, Brats and Bingo from 6-10pm in O’Malley Hall. The perfect way to unwind from a busy week, you can enjoy great food and dollar bingo games while the children participate in fun activities in the supervised child-care area. Tickets are available at the door and the $10 dinner includes bratwurst or hot dog, chips, salad, dessert and lemonade. An additional $3 can buy a bowl of The Buccaneer’s secret-recipe chili!

Saturday’s Harvest Festival, 12:30-9:30pm, offers excitement for everyone with rides, game booths, food vendors and live entertainment! The kids will have endless hours of fun with rides including the Euro Bungee, Tea Cups, Ferris Wheel and video game truck, while trying their skill at the game booths! Sports fans can watch baseball and college football in the beer garden, and a plethora of food choices are on site to please everyone’s palates!

Live entertainment will feature music from popular local musician, Tom Behrens’ “Salt and Pepper Chords,” and “Canto,” comprised of brothers from St. Rita’s Blackwell family who have released their first album and earned a spot on the Vans Warped Tour 2014. While you’re enjoying the music, be sure to browse the silent auction items and get in on some good, competitive bidding fun! Huge bargains await you on vacation homes, tickets to sporting events and shows, art, jewelry and more!

“This year, our live auction is featuring Lake Tahoe and Arrowhead trips, tickets to see Jay Leno in his last season, and 100th-edition Rose Bowl seats,” said Chairperson Sheryl Sanchez. “Come take a gamble and be the lucky winner of these fabulous silent and live-auction items up for bid!”
