High Point Academy’s 2nd Annual International Day
It’s time to share everyone’s cultural heritage with the High Point Academy family during their second Annual International Day on Friday, January 31, 2014.
It promises to be a great cultural experience starting with a School Assembly led by the French and Spanish Clubs. In the week leading up to the event, students will be asked to complete a Trivia Game with questions related to our own HPA staff. On the event day, kids will spend their morning recesses learning different international games and playing World Cup Soccer on the
field. The icing on the cake will be our International Fair in the amphitheater, complete with craft stations, folk artifact displays, photo booth and dance lessons.
To make this grassroots event a complete success, we need volunteers (a Sign-Up Genius will go out this week). For those who can’t volunteer their, they can opt to help with craft supplies or cultural artifacts for the displays. And for those who can’t participate on the day of the event, High Point Academy encourages parents and children to schedule time with their classes during the next few weeks for a short presentation on their country of origin or travels. To schedule these presentations, please contact the teachers directly to see what time fits best in each child’s class schedule. The teachers will try to accommodate as much as possible.
