Weizmann Day School (WDS) launched its annual December holidays mitzvah project for children in need. Dreidels are hanging on a wire alongside the building wall facing the yard. The Dreidel Project, which provides holiday gifts for children in need, is a joint endeavor that WDS participate in annually with students and families at PJTC and B’nai Simcha.
Each dreidel has detailed information about a child, and there are 40 dreidels to distribute. WDS ask that each family choose one or more dreidel(s) and take it off the wire. The project goal is to provide each child with items from their wish list to help brighten their holidays.
Please return the unwrapped items to the box on the front yard by Friday, November 30, with the child’s dreidel information taped to it. This is a wonderful opportunity to model the mitzvah of Tikkun Olam, “repairing the world”. It is also a way that Weizmann students learn firsthand that they can make the world a better place, as its midah states… “It takes each of us to make a difference for all of us. This generous act of kindness strengthens our sense of community as we strive to make the world a better place for children in need.” Todah Rabbah!
