This summer, Immaculate Heart High School senior Amy Zelaya was selected to participate in the annual Hispanic National Bar Foundation’s Future Latino Leaders Law Camp! Only 30 students are selected nationwide for this honor.
Since 1985 the HNBF has worked to encourage and empower Hispanic students to pursue a career in the law. In 2005, the foundation introduced the Future Latino Leaders Law Camp, which provides students with an opportunity to build their leadership skills, explore career choices in the legal profession, and experience the realities of working in Washington, D.C. As part of the program, students participate in a mock trial at the United Stated District Court of Columbia presided by The Honorable District Judge Rudolph Contreras.
