Tuesday, December 5 marked the grand re-opening of Westridge School’s newly renovated Learning Commons. For the first time in three decades, the Learning Commons has been given a complete makeover, with a covered outdoor study patio, a dedicated Lower School area, interactive touch screen panels with collaborative learning systems, and flexible seating configurations.
After a short reading from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, a few words from Head of School Elizabeth J. McGregor and alumna Janet Stanford ’55, and the cutting of the official opening ribbon, the Learning Commons is now open!
“We so needed to make the library a dynamic and flexible learning center – for students and teachers alike,” said Mrs. McGregor. “We thought long and hard about what our ‘Room of Requirement’ would look like. Today, we are here to give thanks to all whose imaginative and creative ideas and support have made the Learning Commons and patio the places we wanted them to be.”
Westridge School thanks its generous supporters who made the renovation possible: alumna Janet Stanford ’55 and her husband Alan and the Wagener Family.
