JG Consulting Hired to Conduct San Marino Unified School District Superintendent Search

After hearing presentations, asking questions, reviewing materials, and doing due diligence on five superintendent search firms, the Board announced its selection of JG Consulting with Escalante & Associates (“JG Consulting”). James Guerra and Mike Escalante bring years of experience in recruiting and placing superintendents both nationally and in California, and as a former administrator in high performing Southern California school districts, Mr. Escalante understands the unique needs of the SMUSD.

On Tuesday, February 12, the search firm will interview individual Board members about their expectations for the new superintendent. During that evening’s School Board meeting at 7:30 p.m., there will be a presentation and discussion in Open Session about search procedures, recruitment, the screening and interviewing process, and developing a timeline for the superintendent search, including future stakeholder and community-related meetings.
