The fundraiser will last until Thursday, October 31 so that military families can receive their box in time for the Thanksgiving.
The club aims to fill over 100 Thanksgiving Food Boxes and raise money to purchase grocery store gift cards for families to buy a turkey to complete their Thanksgiving Dinner.
Donors may also bring money to donate in order to fill a box. Each item costs under $5.
The non-perishable items needed in each box include 14 oz cans of cranberry sauce, 14-16 oz cans of green beans, 32 oz boxes of chicken broth, 1 lb bag of whole pinto beans, 1 lb bag of white rice (not instant), 14 oz box of instant mashed potatoes, 2- 14-16 oz cans of fruit cocktail, 1 lb. bag/box of white sugar, 1 lb box/bag of brown sugar, 64 oz bottle of apple juice (no glasses), 12-16 oz box of stuffing mix, a box of cake mix with matching frosting and a box of hot chocolate packets (6-10 envelopes).
Those who want to fill up their own boxes need to contact Kristen Schultz at La Salle at (626) 696-4362 to get their box picked up or to have their box delivered to La Salle High School by 3:00 p.m. on October 31.
