Learning Spanish and Latin at The Gooden School

The Gooden School Students in fourth-eighth grades learn not only the Spanish language but Latin as well. Students of Latin typically score high on standardized tests due to increased vocabulary and a deeper understanding of grammar. Studying Latin is also great preparation for learning and becoming fluent in one or more of the Romance languages as well as providing ongoing practice in linguistic puzzle solving which helps students become careful readers and writers. Additionally, it leaves students a deep appreciation for history, art, literature, and architecture.
