Make the Most of Your Summer at Immaculate Heart

Maybe you think that summer school is only for students who need to take required makeup classes. But many students take part in Immaculate Heart’s special summer learning programs to develop new skills, explore their passions, and meet other students with similar interests.

Both Immaculate Heart High School and Immaculate Heart Middle School offer summer learning programs in just about every area of study, from the arts and sciences to languages, mathematics, theatre, and athletics.

Immaculate Heart Middle School’s summer session specializes in classes for both academic and enrichment purposes. The 2017 summer program runs from June 19 through July 14. Students may register for up to three morning courses and a variety of afternoon classes and workshops.

This year’s offerings include: Animal Communication, Animation, Arabic Language, Coding & Robotics, Creative Writing, Drawing, Finance, Fitness, Forensics, Geography, Knitting, Mac Movie Making, Marine Biology, Scrapbooking, Spanish, Swimming, and Yoga. Also offered are review classes for all levels in Study Skills, English and Math. Afternoon workshops in Physical Fitness, Theatre and Cooking are also available. Registration closes May 31.

For the first time, Immaculate Heart High School will offer a co-educational summer program with a variety of courses for students who will be entering 9th through 12th grade in the fall. The high school program will run from June 19 through July 21, with two- and five-week courses available. Among the unique offerings are Hiking & Orienteering, Voice Overs, and and A Century of Cinema: Film History Decade by Decade. Registration closes May 15.

Immaculate Heart is centrally located in Los Angeles near Griffith Park at 5515 Franklin Avenue. For more information, and to register for classes, contact the school at (323) 461-3651 or visit its website at immaculateheart.org.
