Maranatha High School: Art Student’s Work Honored

Congratulations to Katelyn Thordarson’s (Class of 2012) whose artwork was chosen by The College Board for their inaugural Call to Artists campaign, earning her the $1,000 scholarship prize! Her original art piece, depicting an old fashione…d Native American chief standing in front of a modern chalkboard filled with math problems, was one of thousands of entries received. The College Board’s inaugural campaign called for artwork reflecting an understanding of and an engagement with diversity in education.  Katelyn’s work will be featured in the promotional materials for next year’s Native American Student Advocacy Institute (NASAI) conference.
