Maranatha Hosts Huge Concert as Back to School Bash

Maranatha High School hosted top Christian recording artist, Phil Wickham, at the Ambassador Auditorium on their campus last week. Over 900 people packed the auditorium for this Back to School Bash. Phil Wickham has many top hits and his song, “This is Amazing Grace,” recently hit the #1 spot with the national Christian audience.

The school’s Associated Student Body, which organized the event, supplied approximately 30 student volunteers to handle all the details of the event from the afternoon Food Truck Fest set up, to ticket taking, and artist hospitality. The concert opened to a packed house with two popular local Christian bands, Urban Rescue and Talmadge. The artists lit up the stage with their talent and energy, but beyond the great performances, the audience would attest to an evening filled with heartfelt worship.

Aside from students, parents, alumni, and local church partners, representatives from two local charities, Door of Hope and Elizabeth House, were on hand to enjoy the concert, as well. All net proceeds from the evening went to support the great work these two organizations do in our community as well as school run mission trips.

The event was so well received that students are already asking when the school will host another concert of this caliber.
