Meet Pasadena High School’s Class of 2019 Salutatorian



Pasadena High School (PHS) would like you to meet their Class of 2019 Salutatorian, Sarah Courtney. During her four years at Pasadena High School, she was enrolled in a total of ten AP courses and was recognized as an AP Scholar with Distinction. She has been recognized as a Lifetime Member of the California Scholarship Federation and is a three year member of the National Honor Society, serving as the NHS President her Senior year. Sarah was recognized for being in the Pasadena High School Academic Top Ten and the PHS 4.0+ Honor Roll for the four years she attended PHS.

During her senior year, Sarah served on the Associated Student Body Cabinet as the Commissioner of Public Affairs. In this position she facilitated the morning announcements and coordinated the posting of information on the school marquees. She was on the Yearbook Staff, serving as a writer, and held the role of the Class of 2019 Director of Marketing and Communications during her Senior year. Sarah was a member of the Varsity PHS LEARNs Orchesis Dance Team for her first three years of high school, and she also danced for the CSDA Company team and taught at Centre Stage Dance Academy.

She is a member of St. Rita Catholic Church Youth Ministry since she entered the 9th grade and most recently served as a Youth Ministry Peer Leader. For the past three summers she has worked as an Office Assistant/Receptionist at Gerrish Swim and Tennis Club. Sarah says that her “four years at Pasadena High School were extremely memorable, and while I am sad to leave, I am excited to embark upon my next journey”. She will be attending The University of Arizona in the Fall , majoring in Physiology with a goal of becoming a Physician’s Assistant.

Pasadena High School is proud of Sarah’s accomplishments and wish her nothing but the best as she moves on in her journey.
