The Clairbourn Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of alum and former Clairbourn parent Lucy Huang to the Board.

Lucy Huang earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Finance and her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education both at University of Southern California. Lucy is co-founder of Charter Enterprise which has been a leader in its field, specializing in industry-leading outdoor gas barbecue grills sold in specialty stores and mass-merchant stores as well as commercial food service equipment for renowned nationwide hotels, restaurants, and fast food chains.

Lucy’s knack for business comes from her grandfather, who is Taiwan’s business magnate most famously cited for being the “Father of Taiwan’s dairy industry” as well as the “Founder of Taiwan’s largest automobile company” holding the largest market share with taking on sole distributorship of Toyota, Lexus and Hino cars in Taiwan. Lucy keeps herself busy as she serves on the Board of her family businesses and leads, directs, and manages all of her company’s factories and foundries operation.

Lucy, an alumna from the Class of 1988, believes Clairbourn has instilled the value of ethics as a framework for behavior, interactions with others, and decision-making that shapes her actions every day contributing to her success. She believes that no matter the size, industry, or level of profitability of an organization, business ethics are one of the most important aspects of long-term success.

Her daughters Tiffany and Kimberly, now attending Westridge School, are also alumnas of Clairbourn. Lucy and her husband Tim believe that the largest gift they have shared with their children was allowing them to inherit Clairbourn’s good teachings of character, respect and responsibility for one’s community, and the value of giving back.

Lucy shared, “I am honored to be joining the board and to be a part of the team that taught me and my girls the value of giving back. I hope to positively contribute to the Clairbourn community and to share the responsibility for ensuring our students are receiving a high quality education and will inherit the tools that will prepare them to thrive and stand out from the rest.”
