New Horizon School: 2012-2013 Friendly Fest

Friendly Fest is a long-standing tradition at New Horizon School, Pasadena. With the Cypress Avenue divide between the lower school and middle school campuses, this gap makes it difficult for younger and older students to connect. Thus, Student Council organizes Friendly Fest each year to pair up a middle schooler with a lower schooler for lunch and fun activities.

The rain almost dampened the event, but with a little elbow grease to move chairs and carpets, the auditorium became a wonderful space for the get-together and even for the basketball relay and organized tag race. Students took turns cheering from the stage steps and playing the games, and it was one of the most energizing (and loud!) Friendly Fest experiences we’ve ever had!

New Horizon School is located at 651 N. Orange Grove Blvd, Pasadena, (626) 795-5186 or visit www.newhorizonschool.org.
