New Horizon School Pasadena Donates Canned Goods to Friends in Deed’s The Food Pantry



Today New Horizon School Pasadena Students and staff donated canned goods to the Friends In Deed Food Pantry in Pasadena. New Horizon School Pasadena expresses its sincerest thanks to all those who donated canned goods students and staff alike for these unselfish act of simply helping out.

The Food Pantry at Friends in Deed provides food assistance to low-income and no-income families in the greater Pasadena/Altadena area. The households are made up of “working poor” individuals, senior citizens and people with disabilities on fixed incomes, and those who are experiencing homelessness. The Food Pantry provide food to more than 325 households per week (approximately 700+ people). This allows many of the families to offset the rising cost of food to pay for rent or other monthly necessities. Another large source of the Food Pantry’s food comes from the community. Churches, synagogues, schools, local businesses, groups, and individuals regularly bring donations to Friends In Deed and rely heavily on these donors and their support is critical, and important, to their success.
