In this event, each student memorizes an approved selection (one song along with its related scale and arpeggio) at his/her own level of participation and performs before an adjudicator. The festival is not a competition: each student is judged against a standard of excellence and
not in comparison with other students. Students are awarded a certificate and ribbon based on their performance.
In selecting the composition for performance, the student and teacher will need to refer to the ACSI Piano Festival Repertoire to determine the appropriate level of difficulty. Categories are Hymn and Classical (solo or duet). Students may enter one or both divisions. Two students may enter as a duet.
The festival is generally a half-day event and students need to be accompanied by their parent or guardian throughout the event. The level in which the student plays determines the time allotted per performance (3-7 minutes).
Performed by Grades 1-8 students. Levels: Beginning through Advanced. Deadline to Register is on January 12, 2018. Pre-Level Test between January 29 to February 2, 2018.
