Pasadena City College Economic and Workforce Development Presents Summer Tech Academies



Pasadena City College Economic and Workforce Development presents Summer Tech Academies to be held on June 13 to August 5, 2016 at PCC Campus (1570 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena).

Program consists of 2 week long experiences in various exciting Career Pathways:

• Robotics Academy – June 13-June 24
• Digital Media Academy – June 27-July 8
• Learn How to Code Academy – July 11-July 22
• Pre-Engineering Academy – July 25-August 5

Free lunch and trips to industry sites. Guest spearkers. For students in Grades 9th to 11th.

About Economic and Workforce Development for Pasadena City College

The Office of Career and Technical Education promotes economic development in the community through educational programs, training, and services that contribute to a quality workforce and promote the retention and expansion of area business and industry.

Career and Technical Education provides leadership and coordination for all vocational education programs offered at Pasadena City College. PCC’s many career programs prepare students for entry-level employment, as well as occupational skills upgrading for those currently employed. The curricula are developed in coordination with advisory committees that provide input to ensure the training is consistent with industry standards. Responsibilities also include the development of pathways between area high schools and PCC, which leads to a seamless transition through articulated high school courses. The office administers federal programs for vocational education and job training and manages special grants and projects related to vocational programs and economic development services.

Economic Development is promoted in the community through partnerships with government agencies, economic development organizations, and representatives of small, medium, and large businesses.
