Pasadena Educational Foundation Launches Teen Battle of the Bands Competition



The Pasadena Educational Foundation (PEF) is hosting the 3rd Annual Rock 4 PEF Music Festival and Battle of the Bands, supporting music programs in Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) schools on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the beautiful Levitt Pavilion in Pasadena’s Memorial Park. Gates open at 4PM. Show starts at 5PM.

This year, the Rock 4 PEF Music Festival will be a one-day, free, rocking’ evening of music, food trucks, booths, special guests, and more surprises. Highlighted at the festival is Battle of the Bands that connects local teen musicians with music industry professionals and performers. Bring your blankets and chairs, and come hungry. MiddleFeast, Pudding Truck, and The Lobos food trucks will be serving up their signature dishes, and Corner Bakery will be on hand with some special treats.

Battle of the Bands features 55 teen musicians in 12 unique bands. The top five finalists will be chosen by a combination of a community-wide online voting campaign and a special panel of online judges comprised of music industry professionals.

Voting is open to everyone and concludes on Friday, October 21.

All 12 bands will perform at Rock 4 PEF, but only the top five will compete before the special panel of judges to win the grand prize. The winner and two runners-up will be the featured acts at Pasadena’s premier all-ages club, No Future Café. The winner will also receive a professional photo shoot and band picture from The Unexpected Portrait.
