Pasadena High School to Welcome 'Principal for a Day' on Thursday

Pasadena High School will have Ivy Sun, the Chairperson of the International Leadership Foundation-Los Angeles Chapter, as its “Principal for a Day” on Thursday, October 24.

Sun is a member of the Board of Directors of the South Hills Academy Foundation and is a Commissioner of the LA County Commission of Landmark and Records. She is currently the Supervisor of the Chinese American Education of Southern California.

Previously, she was the Executive Administrator at South Hills Academy in West Covina. She was also the owner and administrator of Creative Child Preschool in San Gabriel and taught elementary school in the Alhambra School District. Sun is a past Board Director of the San Marino Chamber of Commerce.

Sun received a BA in English Language and Literature from the National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan as well as well as a MA in Education from the University of the Pacific in Stockton.

Principal for a Day is a nationwide program used in many school districts to build stronger relationships among schools, businesses and the wider community. Community leaders spend a morning with a school principal to better understand their complex role and get perspective on the school system from within. The program is sponsored by Merrill Lynch and the Pasadena Education Foundation.
