Pasadena Unified Master Plan Committee Resumes Master Planning Discussion
The Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) Board Master Plan Committee will reconvene next week to review draft recommendations from the Superintendent’s Master Planning Team on the optimal elements key to a quality learning environment while maximizing resources and support for all district students. The meeting will take place Tuesday, March 3 at 5:00 p.m. in the Elbie J. Hickambottom Board Room (Room 236), 351 South Hudson Avenue, Pasadena.
After voting on new school attendance boundaries for the 2015-2016 school year in the fall, the PUSD Board of Education directed Superintendent Brian McDonald to present recommendations to the board about existing master planning issues, including possible school closures. To develop these recommendations, Superintendent McDonald convened a group of stakeholders to form a Master Planning Team to utilize information and data from the Board Master Planning Committee in order to define the essential elements for optimal learning and identify further recommendations for the district master plan. The team spent weeks examining what are the essential characteristics of a high quality educational experience for all students and will present their draft recommendations at the committee meeting.
