Pasadena Unified Sponsors Summer Options Fair

The last day of school for Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) students is June 4 but learning can continue all summer long thanks to programs offered by PUSD, Pasadena LEARNs, the Pasadena Educational Foundation and other district partners. To learn about all of the options available for PUSD youth, PUSD will host the free Summer Options Fair Tuesday, April 28 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Rose City High School Courtyard at the PUSD Education Center, 351 S. Hudson Avenue, Pasadena.

“While it is important that students get some R&R this summer, we need to make sure that the learning never stops,” said PUSD Superintendent Dr. Brian McDonald. “The high quality summer programs offered by the district and its partners are both fun and educational and can help combat the summer learning slide.”

In addition to the summer program providers, there will be performances by students in the Pasadena LEARN’s afterschool and summer program. District, city of Pasadena and community partner agencies will provide information about preschool summer options, summer reading programs and other services for school age children. PUSD Food Services will also be present at the Summer Options Fair promoting the 29 sites in Altadena, Pasadena and Sierra Madre where kids 18 years old or younger can get a free breakfast and lunch, no questions asked.

Information about some of the summer programs on offer and more details about the Summer Options Fair can be found at gopusd.com/summer.
