Performing Arts at Ramona Convent Secondary School

Choir and Handbell Concerts

Christmas and Spring Concerts, liturgies, casual mini-concerts, events and service projects give voice to our talented musicians–singers and handbell ringers alike. Musical selections range from early music to Bach to the latest pop tunes. Any student may join the choir or handbell ensemble. Admission to the Chamber Singers is by audition.

“Being in Chamber Singers has helped me break out of my comfort zone, express who I am, and become a more creative person. I’m inspired to share this gift with my community.” – Yessenia ’17

Theatre Productions

Theatre games, imagination, movement and fun characterize the after-school theatre program. A highlight is the Fall Play, open to the entire school community by audition. Play selections have ranged from Shakespeare to contemporary pieces, including plays authored by Ramona student playwrights. Most recently, the community enjoyed a vibrant production of the musical, Once on This Island. Students have opportunities to act, sing and dance or to develop their technical skills as members of the sound, light, stage and production teams.

Events throughout the year showcase students’ work.

Formal and informal Choir and Handbells concerts occur throughout the year, and the ComedySports Improv Team generates laughter and quick thinking through competition.
