Pledge Now in First Blair Read-A-Thon to Raise Money for IB
Blair High School is excited about its first schoolwide Read-A-Thon on Saturday, September 27!
Groups of students will be stationed at various branches of the Pasadena Public Library, the Altadena Library and at Vroman’s Bookstore. Students will read in various formats for 15-minute intervals. Blair students of all grade levels are encouraged to participate, and they have begun soliciting pledges!
Sponsors may pledge a certain amount for each 15-minute interval or pledge a flat donation. Already a sponsor? Then challenge three friends to match your pledge!
Students need to first sign up with their Advisory teacher, and on Sept. 22 your Advisory teacher will give you your location assignment for the Read-A-Thon.
Parent volunteers are needed! Blair needs help with snacks, transportation and other logistics. To sign up to help, or for other questions, contact Blair’s International Baccalaureate Diploma Coordinator Ms. Karen Law.
Funds raised go to the costs of the International Baccalaureate programs, including training for teachers, project materials and registration fees.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme is part of the curriculum for ALL students in grades 6-10 at Blair.
The prestigious IB Diploma Programme is a two-year advanced program for students during 11th and 12th grade. Learn more about the strengths of the IB approach and the advantages of an IB Diploma!
