Poet Gerda Govine, Actors and Playwrights Visit John Muir High School

Dr. Gerda Govine from the Pasadena Rose Poets coordinated a reading of her work for Side Street Project’s Last Hammock Conversation at John Muir High School on Saturday.

As a follow up to a Poet’s Workshop with Gerda, Muir students also read their work addressing their studies of the the criminal justice system and it’s treatment of juvenile offenders.

Muir Students were also thrilled to have Jimmy Wu Alumni Advocacy Director from InsideOUT Writers (insideoutwriters.org). Wu also spoke to the students about the organization, and read some of his own work.
