The Wax Museum is a culminating activity for Polytechnic School’s third grade students to showcase their reading and writing skills. Students first choose a famous person to research from a list of people who have made a lasting contribution to the society. Students spend weeks in class researching and preparing their presentations. Students are encouraged to use both print and digital resources to learn about their historical figures.
On the day of the Wax Museum, students dress up as the character they’ve chosen to study and present their report in front of their classmates and second grade guests. Parents are also invited to attend this special event! Some of the historical figures that students selected included Alexander Hamilton, Sally Ride, Steve Jobs, Michelle Obama, Betsy Ross, etc.
