Polytechnic School: Dancescape and After Math

Seventh-graders performed this week as the culminating activity for the Theatre, Tech Theatre, and Dance classes.

In Theatre, students spent the first half of the semester working on improvisation, character analysis, text work, and developing their vocal and physical skills. The second half was devoted to the rehearsal and performance of the one act play, After Math.

In Dance this semester, students improved their dance technique and learned two group dances in hip hop and contemporary. Student choreography resulted in solos, duets and small group pieces in the styles of lyrical, hip hop, jazz, and contemporary.

Tech Theatre supports both in terms of set pieces, properties, lights, and sound.
