Polytechnic School Eighth Grade Projects

The week following the eighth grade trip, students worked on their year-end projects. The resulting projects were displayed last night and demonstrated a wide range of ambitions. Purely as an example and not an inclusive list: students spent a week discovering Los Angeles, went mountain biking and documented their journeys, investigated major religions, created a tornado simulator, recorded a demo album, performed a violin duet, learned to tap dance, sewed clothes, created a music video. Cooking was a popular option, with presentations including cakes, western European cuisine, and fish from two boys who fished for the week. Two budding chefs spent the week working at Little Flower cafe and shared their experiences. The finale was a performance of a song an eighth-grader wrote during the week while a slideshow played of pictures from the last nine years of the Class of 2019.
