Poly’s K-12 Educational Technology program focuses on the integration of digital tools for communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking as a means to support the dynamic technology needs of each student navigating their academic career. Poly’s technology integration specialists work with teachers and students to guide them on a path of exploration and discovery to gain competency and mastery on a wide variety of computer devices and applications.
Each division offers a unique approach. The Lower School uses interactive touch technology emphasizing the importance of creation versus consumption and helps build foundational computer skills. Among other goals, the Middle School uses laptops in exploring digital options for production and creativity to demonstrate learning. The Upper School’s Bring Your Own Device Program (BYOD) fosters online independent learning and self-reliance. These collective approaches cultivate an independent, academic environment for students as they prepare for Middle School, Upper School, and the years beyond.
