Polytechnic School: Reunion Weekend Offers a Chance to Reconnect

This May, Poly alumni spanning seven decades returned to campus in celebration of Reunion Weekend. Captivating conversations, lively laughter, and warm embraces captured the spirit of the weekend. Leading up to the festivities, reunion committees for each class year ending in 4 or 9 built enthusiasm among classmates by sharing event details, creating social media group pages, and planning programs.

One way in which reunion classes commemorate the year is by making a gift to the Annual Fund in honor of their reunion. Strong participation in the Reunion Giving Program helps ensure that the Poly experience continues to enrich current students and future generations. This year, two reunion committees created exciting challenge grants to boost their classmates’ participation and gift size. The Class of 1999 committee offered up to $50,000 to match their peers’ gifts, while the Class of 1989 committee also made a generous challenge, along with one committee member’s offer to shave his head if 100 percent of the class contributed. All of the classes set the bar high for next year’s celebration!
