Polytechnic School Welcomes Japanese Students

Polytechnic School warmly welcomed visiting students from Nirayama High School in Mishima, Japan earlier this month.

The Japanese youngsters gave the local students some lessons on Japanese calligraphy. They also gave a demo on the Japanese version of cheering wearing traditional military uniforms while shouting chants and singing. As a final act, the visitors rendered an award-winning chorus to the delight of Polytechnic students and faculty. They were treated to a barbecue after the presentation.

The next day, the group visited the classrooms and had lunch with Poly students. This is the third consecutive year that the school from Pasadena’s sister city paid a visit to Polytechnic.
