PUSD’s New Partners-in-Education with The First Tee of Greater Pasadena



As of 2006, The First Tee of Greater Pasadena, has positively impacted over 40,000 young people in the greater Pasadena area. Through the game of golf, kids are introduced to the lifelong sport while learning life skills. The golf program focuses and teaches Nine Core Values: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence,
responsibility, perseverance, courtesy, and judgment.

The main themes for PUSD’s partnership in 2017 will be to streamline opportunities within middle school Physical Education curriculum: goal-setting, managing emotions, instilling life enhancing values and promoting healthy
choices, and resolving conflicts.

The First Tee Greater Pasadena will provide PUSD Middle Schools golf coach(s), needed supplies, all during the school day. The partnership is focused on 6th graders throughout PUSD middle schools. Additionally, the structuring of a J. Muir High School golf team is in motion, PUSD just hired a golf coach, welcome Gregg Middleton.
