Once again God blessed Ramona Convent with a beautiful day for graduation. After all of the rehearsals and preparations, everything fell into place perfectly. Graduates walked down the aisle in the Rose Heath Garden in gorgeous white gowns on Saturday, May 30, 2015. Ms. Deb Drury, Athletic Director, began the ceremony by sharing a beautiful invocation with the graduates and their families. Our commencement speaker, Dr. Tessa Stecker ’01, truly represented who a Ramona graduate can become. In relating her own experiences she entertained as well as challenged the graduates and the audience. Her closing reminders “remember to say thank you” and “see the good in others and celebrate it” are good ones for everyone.

Salutatorian Victoria Martinez praised her classmates as “exceptional young women with bright futures” and asked them to “continue to live the values we have learned at Ramona. Remember the love that was shared here and take it everywhere….and touch the lives of all we meet.” As they walked out, the sense of pride and accomplishment was palpable.

While this was a small class, it is important to note that the 48 graduates were offered $6,397,369 in merit scholarships. Some received multiple scholarship offers to colleges. 100% were accepted at four-year colleges and universities. 40% were offered acceptance to the University of California (the state average is 10-11%).

Other honors include:

• 34 graduates were recognized as A.P. Scholars
• 23 with 100% Life Membership in the California Scholarship Federation
• 3 more with Life Membership in the California Scholarship Federation
• 29 National Honor Society Members
• 10 Life Membership in the Philomatheon Scholastic Honor Society
