Pasadena - Ramona Convent Community Celebrates Ivy League Early Acceptance

Ramona Convent Secondary School senior Ashley Garcia, a QuestBridge scholar, has been offered a full scholarship to Dartmouth College where she plans to dual major in Philosophy and Spanish and minor in Political Science. She hopes for a thriving career in Immigration and Criminal Law. Ashley’s commitment to excellence partnered with the support of the College Guidance Department and rigorous academic program have prepared her for the challenges of an Ivy League school.

Ashley shared “Ramona has provided me with a healthy balance of both book knowledge and social justice awareness. My teachers and classmates have helped me build confidence through leadership opportunities. Here, girls are at the front line when it comes to being a leader and I was encouraged to create my own opportunities through my involvement with the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).” As president of FBLA, Ashley organized the opening of a schoolwide café as an entrepreneurial project on campus to provide students with breakfast items before school begins. Aside from her many co-curricular activities, Ashley has also taken nine Advanced Placement (AP) courses at Ramona and recently received recognition as an AP Scholar.

Ramona is also proud to recognize the hard work and determination of 27 AP scholars and recent graduates who have been inducted into the annual AP Hall of Fame. The AP Program recognizes high school students who have demonstrated outstanding college-level achievement through AP courses and exams with the AP Scholar Awards.

Inquiry guides our philosophy of learning. Ramona offers a rigorous and personalized college-prep program with a wide array of AP, Honors, Arts, (STEM) Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and elective courses.

Ramona is a welcoming Catholic college-prep high school for girls in grades 9-12. Ramona graduates face the future with an extraordinary education, a global vision fueled by Catholic values, an independent spirit, confident leadership skills, the support of their Ramona sisters, and the strength of a legacy of more than 128 years of excellence.
