Ramona Convent Secondary School Hosts Annual Tea Party for Prospective Students

The Holy Family Room at Ramona was filled to capacity with prospective members of the Class of 2023 and their “remarkable women” as guests of current student ambassadors and their AMAZING moms. The “Come Fly With Us” theme was perfectly carried out with mothers decked out as airplane pilots and current students as flight attendants.

Table centerpieces and décor were created and set-up by tea party committee members. Theology teacher and Pastry Chef, Francois Laborie, and his team of mini-chefs came early Sunday morning to bake scones, whip the cream for the scones, and make hundreds of delicious tea sandwiches. When their task was done, a cadre of servers, dressed in flight attendant attire, traveled around the room pouring tea and waiting on our guests.

All in attendance also enjoyed a beautiful mini-performance by our Chamber Singers and continuous piano serenades by Wendy Cao ’21. Ramona senior and featured speaker, Monique Rios ’19, spoke eloquently about her love for Ramona as she has “traveled” through high school.

As guests were leaving, they helped themselves to the wide array of yummy sweets at the extravagant candy buffet table. The shared excitement of the future tigers in the room was palpable and it is sure to grow as they officially become Ramona Convent students.

Ramona is a welcoming Catholic college-prep high school for girls in grades 9-12. Ramona graduates face the future with an extraordinary education, a global vision fueled by Catholic values, an independent spirit, confident leadership skills, the support of their Ramona sisters, and the strength of a legacy of more than 129 years of excellence.
