This is to provide PowerSchool Parent Portal users advanced notice of upcoming changes.
A new PowerSchool Parent Portal is scheduled to be released on February 1, 2013. Any parent or guardian who wishes to utilize the PowerSchool parent portal on or after 2/1/13 will need to register for a new single sign-on (“SSO”) account.
The new system will offer the same features of the current system plus provide parents/guardians the ability to: self-register and maintain their own username and password; recover a lost portal password; monitor one or more students with one account; utilize the new PowerSchool for Parents Mobile App for iOS; submit demographic information changes (name, address, phone, employer, email).
Please note that online demographic information change submissions are still subject to district verification before updates are applied to the student’s permanent record. Student accounts for the PowerSchool portal will remain unchanged.
A hard copy letter containing additional instructions and SSO registration information will be sent via US Postal Mail to the home address for each middle and high school student in January 2013. The San Marino Unified School District encourages all parents and guardians to register for their SSO account starting on or after February 1, 2013.
