On April 27 and April 28th, Huntington Middle School (HMS) will be hosting its first ever Mock Trial Invitational Tournament, exclusively for middle school students. In addition to its own Mock Trial team, seven other teams from around the region will be competing against each other in an exciting mock criminal trial.
Huntington Middle School is looking for individuals withany type of legal background to serve as judges and scorers for the competition. Additionally, individuals with a speech/debate/forensics background are welcome to volunteer, including students. Student Volunteers are asked that they be at least 16 years of age. As a volunteer you can commit to scoring/judging anywhere from one to five rounds, depending on your schedule. Matches will be held Friday, April 27th, from 4:00-9:00 p.m., and on Saturday, April 28th, from 10:00-5:00 p.m. All matches will be at HMS. The school is also looking for a few volunteers to help in the score room, and with logistics, food, and check-in.
If you are able to volunteer, or would like to learn more about this opportunity, please contact organizers Jose Caire (firstname.lastname@example.org), Summer Cervantez (email@example.com), or Vince Tricarico (firstname.lastname@example.org).
