Sequoyah School Participate in Compton Debate Tournament

Sequoyah School congratulates its Debate Team on their strong showing at the Compton Tournament held on Saturday, February 15 at Compton High School, Compton. The pre-announced topics for the event include: “The US should become a cashless society”; “The US Federal Government should provide direct reparations compensation to African-American descendants of slaves.” Additional impromptu topics were also selected from current events and enduring ethical controversies. Some of the debate team members engaged in their first debate, and they are a sign of a bright future for Sequoyah School’s debating, should they remain dedicated to improving their skills.
