Marengo Elementary School Roofing & HVAC Project Underway

At the peak of summer and record high temperatures, the crew at Marengo Elementary School charges on with roof tear-off and installation of the roofing underlayment and new HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning).
To improve the existing building envelope, there will be two (2) layers of roofing underlayment to all the existing buildings. This acts as a “self-healing” membrane that improves the longevity of the roofing system. This, along with the new roofing shingles, will resolve any existing and potential water intrusion in the existing buildings.
Additionally, each HVAC unit received a new electrical disconnect and control box; which were installed directly adjacent to each unit. This will improve the serviceability of each unit and allow for routine maintenance to be completed expeditiously. Frequent routine service will maintain the efficiency of the HVAC units and allow them to perform at their highest energy ratings.
With these improvements, the students and staff will benefit from a more comfortable setting in each space while the buildings function with lower operating costs.
