St. Elizabeth Parish School Celebrates 95 Years!

For ninety –five years St. Elizabeth Parish School at 1840 Lake Ave. in Altadena has provided a quality Catholic education to the children of Altadena and Pasadena. Opened in 1919 under the direction of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, the parish school has provided a strong educational foundation for the thousands of children in grades TK – 8 that have passed through its gates over the years. Animated by the charism of the Holy Names sisters and their founder, Blessed Marie Rose Durocher, the school has been a strong and abiding presence in the local community. Although the sisters left the school in the 1980’s, the dedicated and professionally qualified lay teachers and staff have continued the Mission of the school, which states;

St. Elizabeth is a Catholic parish school that exists to serve a diverse community with a commitment to the development of responsible life-long learners. In partnership with parents, the school community proclaims the message of Jesus Christ as it nurtures each child in goodness and excellence.

It is with great joy that the parish and school communities celebrate the 95th Anniversary of the school’s opening. All alumni of the school, current students and their families, former teachers, staff and administrators, and all the friends of St. Elizabeth Parish School are invited to join in the celebrations planned for this special jubilee celebration. We hope to see you in attendance at one or all of the following events.
